Sign Language
For the past couple of months I have been signing to Cody. Von and I really want to get him into sign language so it will make our lives easier communicating with him. I've been reading a lot about when to start and everything says around 6 months, but if he is making eye contact with you than you can start signing and he will pick it up as he gets older. So everyday I try to make it a habit and sign to him the basics. So far I sign Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, Grandpa, Food, and Sleepy. Once he picks up these I will probably try more. Oh and I also sign his name to him when we sing one of his favorite songs BINGO, but instead we use CODY. I love signing to him. Everyday we sit down together after he eats and I go through all the signs. He always gets a big smile and pays attention so I know he is going to be a great signer. Now I am also trying to sign while I do things in the house with him. Whenever I talk about someone or something than I try to do the sign. I usually forget, but it's just going to take practice. So if anybody is around him and you want to teach him a new sign or do the signs he already knows then feel free to sign to the Codster. I guarantee you will get a smile out of him.

Blessing
Cody was given a beautiful blessing from his wonderful daddy. He did so good during the blessing he didn't even cry. Bubba said he was smiling and looking at everybody around him. He loves attention so being up in front of everyone at church just made his day. The only sad part was his head got cut from his blessing outfit. I will never dress him in something with a zipper again. We wondered why he wouldn't stop crying before we got to church and than Von saw blood on his hat after the blessing and we noticed the cut. Besides that everything went perfect for his blessing. Thanks to his daddy for a beautful blessing.
Family Time
We had so much this weekend with the family. Cody was so excited to see his Bubba, Grandma, Uncle Jeremy, Uncle Matt, Aunt Jesse, and his little cousin Victoria. He had so much fun kicking his Uncle Jeremy while he tried to eat and smiling at everybody else. He also enjoyed a nice kiss from Victoria. He survived his first trip to Park City where his Bubba babysat him and he learned about football. Everybody wore him out so much that he sleep through the night for me. Cody his getting so good at facial expressions I am putting up pictures of a couple of his expressions. One is of his smile which is the cutest of all and the other is of his serious face. That is the face he does when he knows that he is smarter than me and won't fall for my tricks. We had so fun this weekend that Cody cried when everyone left. We reassured him that he would see everyone soon including his Uncle Scott and Aunt Ashley who he can't wait to meet. Thanks everyone for coming out.

Rolling Like A Big Boy
Cody has officially rolled over for the first time. He is growing up so fast. Things that have happened this week. He now sleeps without his bassinet, he rolled over for the first time, and he sacred me yesterday by throwing up. I also took him for a jog in the stroller and he loved it. When I stopped to walk he cried. Hopefully he doesn't expect me to run every time he's in the stroller. He is just a little man growing up so fast. One day I will catch him smiling on camera. He always does it for me, but than once I get the camera out he stops. What a stinker.

Splish Splash
Today Cody did what he loves the most. He took a long warm bath. It makes me happy that he loves to takes baths cause I love baths too. Even though he doesn't do much I can tell on his face how happy he is. After the bath he fell asleep in his cute little robe with no diaper on. Lavender soap and a warm bath really do relax him. Now I need to buy some lavender oil for the room so he is always relaxed and happy. Being a first time mom I have my struggles, but from talking to other people and hearing their stories I have accepted that my Cody is such a good boy even though we have up and down days. For the most part they are good days and I am so grateful for that.

Learning To Speak
Here is some video of Cody learning to use his voice besides crying. Sometimes it sounds like he is trying so hard to say hi. Soon he will be a talking machine and flirt with all the ladies with his cute hi. Right now they are just squaks.

Lovin His Sunglasses
Cody got his first pair of sunglasses and they fit perfectly. He looks so cool in them I wish he could wear them all the time. Now the sun won't shine in his eyes when we go for walks.

The Big 1 Month
Today Cody turned 1 month. It feels like I just got home from the hospital. I woke up with a soar throat and to him grunting and moving around . He was just so excited that he's 1 month old. He had a great day eating and sleeping while I got nothing done cause of the soar throat and him just wanting to lay on me. He is getting so active now and smiling a lot more. We were out and 2 girls came up to him wanting to see him and he smiled so big for them. He is just a little chick magnet. I don't know what I am going to do with him when he gets older. I love my little boy so much. Happy 1 month birthday.

Seeing Ghosts
This morning I woke up to the handsome Cody. While we were sitting in the living room he was staring at the wall behind me. For 20 minutes he was making the craziest faces like there was a ghost behind me. Sometimes he looked shocked and sometimes he just smiled. Than I realized it was just gas. Those are the faces he makes when he has to let one go real bad. Before I realized he had gas I thought to myself wouldn't it be cool if he could see someone there. Sometimes it's so cute to watch him fart and poo. Although when he gets older I'm sure I won't think his farts are cute. So I have to enjoy them while I can.

Little Cody Jackson
We have a new addition to our family. He's the cutest little boy ever. Here's a little update on him. Tomorrow he will be 4 weeks. So far he has been a good boy. A little fussy sometimes, but in the end he wins your heart over. We went to the doctor's the other day and he is officially 10 pounds 6 ounces. Oh my, I will have the buffest arms ever. He still likes to pee when changing his diaper. Thank goodness it's not on me and just on himself. He loves to cuddle. We like to fall to sleep together cuddling on the couch. He is one strong boy and loves to push me away with his legs. When you look into his eyes, you fall in love. He thinks he's smarter than me. When I look at him I can see his little brain working away. Who are we kidding, he probably is smarter than me.
